Housewives of D.C.
Three of Washington's grandes dames will make a grand appearance together for a new national Web site called faboverfifty.com, billed as a "groundbreaking web destination that celebrates smart, stylish, accomplished women over 50."
Selected as the representatives from Washington for the site, set to launch with a glitzy kickoff party in New York early next year, are: jeweler Ann Hand, wife of lawyer and former Johnson administration official Lloyd Hand, Ann Dibble Jordan, wife of former President Clinton confidant and golfing buddy Vernon Jordan, and Dianne Kube, a health care exec and campaign surrogate on Sen. John McCain's 2008 bid for the White House.
"I was happy just to be included in the over-50 category," explained Mrs. Hand, who volunteered that she is actually over 70.
The three doyennes, who have been friends for years, gathered for a photo shoot at Mrs. Hand's MacArthur Boulevard jewelry shop, where they posed in red (the official color for Washington power wives) outfits for their spread, which will appear on the site.
